Todays teachers need to be able to inform, influence and inspire all types of students while staying balanced and empowered to continue to grow themselves.
Peter Briggs teaches students and coaches teachers locally and nationally to utilize TRUST PSYCHOLOGY and GROWTH PEDAGOGY. This approach develops an awareness of equity, builds culturally responsiveness and enables social-emotional learning. When student belong in the learning spaces and trust their learning communities, they will achieve and succeed.
Expanding on his 20 years of experience in education, Peter Briggs founded SoundEd to inspire students and teachers of all types. After spending years researching Trust Psychology and Growth Pedagogy, Peter shares innovative strategies and memorable stories to help people understand how growth happens. He is a sought after speaker and instructor in schools, organizations and conferences across the country. As the provost of SoundEd, Peter offers workshops, keynotes, online classes and educational consulting services.
In his work as a music teacher, Peter creates a space where each and every student makes meaningful growth in a way that develops their sense of belonging and self-efficacy. In his work with adult learners, Peter clearly articulates the theory behind the actions he lives out in the classroom every day and provides structures for teachers to integrate that theory back into their own practice.
As a veteran educator of 40+ years, and as a current teacher of future teachers, I can think of few colleagues who inspire me the way Peter Briggs does. His manner, professionalism, reality-based insights, his “story”, are uplifting, motivating, and help me revisit all that I’ve loved about being a teacher.
Peter is a phenomenal educator with philosophies that will live on for the betterment of our students and teachers. His instruction provides a realistic and compassionate approach for those in low demographic schools (and everywhere), giving you tools and thought processes that you can use to shape a personal and reformative look at your teaching, and your relationship to your students. Highly recommend this workshop!
Best PD workshop I have attended in Tacoma Public Schools! Excellent presentation skills. Very useful and applicable content. And enthusiasm and positivity had me enjoying every moment of the training! Good job!
Best PD EVER! Seriously, I loved the positivity, the amazing tools, the immediate application, the emphasis on self-care & love of the profession and our students… I could go on and on. I hope you do many more of these.
I attended Peter’s workshop last spring and came away with so many things to implement in my classroom. Peter’s presentation was insightful and inspiring and just what I needed to make it through the end of the year. I look forward to learning more from him in the future!
